FRIDAY RECAP: OUR FIRST SURF COMPETITION

FRIDAY RECAP: OUR FIRST SURF COMPETITION

At Friday, we’ve always embraced pushing the boundaries—whether it’s in the way we craft our surf wear or the way we approach life every day of the week. So when the opportunity arose to get involved in the Surf Aid Women’s Cup in Byron Bay, we didn’t just dip our toes in; we dove headfirst.

Surfing, an industry traditionally dominated by men, has long needed a shakeup—and that’s where we wanted to come in. From seasoned pros to total beginners, the event was all about inclusivity, celebrating female surfers, and creating a ripple effect of positive change. This year’s event in Byron Bay was more than just a competition; it was a coming together of women who share the same passion for surfing and social responsibility.

While our team managed to take third place, there was so much more to the day than winning a prize. Friday was there to participate in all the fun, from basking in the sun between heats to the late afternoon celebrations. There was a sense of community that went beyond competition. The supbar conditions added to the laughs and camaraderie, everyone—spectators, surfers, and supporters—all came together to support Surf Aid’s amazing work.

A HEARTFELT THANK YOU

To everyone who participated, surfers, supporters, and those who contributed in our Forgiving Friday collection, we want to say a massive THANK YOU.

As we look forward to participating in future community events and continue our support, we remain committed to the same values that have driven us from the start: to play hard, look good, and make a difference.

But our involvement doesn’t stop at this event. Partnering with Surf Aid is the beginning of a long-lasting commitment to making a difference. At Friday, we’re here for the long haul, committed to supporting a wider mission, and encouraging our community to get involved too.

Stay tuned for more updates, new collections, and more ways to get involved for great causes that matter to us and our community.

With love,
Friday
